Narrowcasting at the Don Bosco College in Volendam

At the Don Bosco College in Volendam, we were allowed to install our narrowcasting system throughout the entire school building. The choice to use narrowcasting was made because this school, like many others, will be mobile phone-free in the school year of 2024-2025.

Students at this school are now required to read all important information on the screens. Because we have established a link with Zermelo’s software, we show the current timetable changes and lessons of the next lesson in the broadcast. This way, students are completely up-to-date, without having to use a telephone.

Other important information such as announcements and the school agenda as well as useful information such as bus departure times and rain radar are also shown in this broadcast.

What has been done

  • Broadcast developed in house style
  • Connection realized with Zermelo
  • School agenda loaded from Office365
  • Displaying the bus stop information

The school has multiple floors, wings and spaces, we have made sure that they have the possibility to control these individually. Ideal for open days or other important events where wayfinding may be necessary.

We also have a separate broadcast running in the teachers’ lounge, where of course some lighter content is allowed to run. For example, the latest news, the weather, Formula 1, Tour du France and much more content is played here to make the breaks a bit more pleasant.
